Manny Oliverez is co-owner and operator of Capture Billing, a medical billing company located in Virginia. He is a veteran Director of Operations for medical practices – whereby working with clients to open new practices and growing existing practices into profitable ventures. He is skilled in guiding physicians through all phases of the medical practice building experience- from site selection to financing, construction, equipping and staffing.
Manny is also well versed in healthcare technology and communications. Currently, Capture Billing is implementing Electronic Health Records (EHR) for all clients and affiliates. This is to ensure they meet and exceed HIPPA rules and the HITECH Act requirements for data storage, encryption, backups, disaster recovery and will be able to demonstrate “meaningful use” to receive government incentives. The HITECH Act, signed into law in Feb 2009, “promotes the adoption and meaningful use of health information technology”. Parts of the HITECH Act also address “privacy and security concerns that are inherent in the electronic transmission of health information”. These provisions strengthen the civil and criminal enforcement of the HIPAA rules. Capture Billing, under Manny’s direction, holds compliance with HIPPA and the HITECH ACT as an integral cornerstone for patient-physician communications and helps practice to comply with these federal regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of software and technology has also been demonstrated by Manny’s experiences designing office network systems and implementing practice management software. He is also accomplished in both traditional and internet marketing including website design, development and programming, Search Engine Optimization, utilizing Social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin, and press releases. He is an avid blogger for company websites.
At present, Manny is Secretary of Physicians Management Association– an organization to help physicians and practice mangers run their practices more efficiently. He is also involved with, and has spoken for, the local Chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders. In addition, he is not only an instructor at Northern Virginia Community College for Workforce Development teaching Medical Revenue Cycle Management, but also sits on the advisory boards for Everest College and Sanford-Brown College. In this capacity he consults and offers advice on their Medical Billing Curriculum.
Highlights of past accomplishments include, owning, operating and managing small businesses, management and sales for the Walt Disney Company and two decades of medical office management, billing and consulting.
